4X4 Rolleiflex + Rera Pan 400 127
I used to frequent a camera shop in Portland Oregon called Hollywood Camera owned and operated by a fellow named Ed. He ran the place for over 60 years. I showed up one day looking for some 620 film spools and was immediately distracted by a 4x4 Rolleiflex TLR in the camera case. It was mint green, in great condition, so I scooped it up. Also known as the "Baby Rollei", it takes 127 format films and produces 4cm x 4cm images.
The standard Rolleiflex is larger and produces 6cm x 6cm images on 120 format films. There is a cuteness factor with the Baby Rollei due to its smaller size and always seems to catch the glances of other people when I'm out shooting with it. Ed has since passed away and Hollywood Camera was closed down but I think about him every time I use that camera.
The images pictured above were shot along the northern coast of Oregon.
